Some campus network resources are only available if you are connected directly to the University network. To access these remotely you’ll need to connect to campus using the Palo Alto GlobalProtect client.

Android #

Configuration
You do not need to install anything on your Android device to connect to the TU VPN server. The built-in IPsec VPN will work with the utulsa network.

To get started, swipe down from the top of the screen and open the settings menu.

Tap on Network & internet.

Tap on Advanced.

Tap on VPN.

Tap on the “+” sign to add a VPN connection.

Enter the following settings then tap save.

  • Name: TU A
  • Type: IPSec Xauth PSK
  • Server address: vpn-a.utulsa.edu
  • IPSec identifier: tuvpn
  • IPSec pre-shared key: tuvpn

Repeat the previous step for TU B if desired. This will allow you to connect in the event that TU A is down. Simply change the Server Address to vpn-b.utulsa.edu.


Tap on TU A or TU B to connect.

Enter your credentials and tap connect.

The VPN should show as connected. You can now access protected University resources.

Mac OS #

Download the GlobalProtect VPN Client

To download the GlobalProtect client, open your favorite web browser and navigate to tuvpn.utulsa.edu. You’ll be prompted to enter your TUNetID and password. Enter your credentials and press Log In.

Click on the Mac download link. Once the download completes click on the download button and double click on the GlobalProtect package.

Install the GlobalProtect VPN Client

The GlobalProtect client installer should launch. Click Continue.


The next screen will ask if you want to install or remove the GlobalProtect client. Ensure the GlobalProtect option is selected. Click Continue.


The next screen is a confirmation that you’re ready to install. Click Install.


You may get a security prompt at this point. If so, enter your administrator credentials if required and click Install Software.


Once the install is completed you’ll get a confirmation screen. Click Close.


You will be prompted to delete the package now that it’s installed. You’ll need it to uninstall the software later, so you might want to keep it.


Connect

Once the GlobalProtect client is installed it should automatically launch. Enter “tuvpn.utulsa.edu” when prompted for the portal address and click Connect.


Enter your TUNetID and password when prompted. Press the Sign In button.

When the GlobalProtect client has sucessfully connected it will display a colorful globe with a checkmark and say it’s connected. You can now access protected University systems.

Downloading

To download the GlobalProtect client, open your favorite web browser and navigate to https://tuvpn.utulsa.edu. You’ll be prompted to enter your TUNetID and password.

You’ll need to download either the 32 or 64 bit version for your operating system. Most modern Windows installs are 64 bit, but if you want to double check, right click on your start button and click system.


The system type will be displayed near the bottom of the list.


Click on either the 32-bit or 64-bit download link. Then choose Run.


The GlobalProtect client installer should launch. Click Next.


The next screen will ask where you want to install the GlobalProtect client. The default location is fine. Click Next.


The next screen is a confirmation that you’re ready to install. Click Next.


You may get a UAC security prompt at this point. If so, enter your administrator credentials if required and click yes.


Once the install is completed you’ll get a confirmation screen. Click Close.


Connect

Once the GlobalProtect client is installed it should automatically launch. Enter “tuvpn.utulsa.edu” when prompted for the portal address and click Connect.


Enter your TUNetID and password when prompted. Press the Sign In button.
